Medical Definition of Etanidazole

N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-nitro-1h-imidazole. A nitroimidazole that sensitises hypoxic tumour cells that are normally resistant to radiation therapy.
Pharmacological action: antineoplastic agent, radiation-sensitizing agents.
