1. Aescigenin-(2-methyl-3-acetoxybutyrate)-(2-xylosido 4-glucosidoglucuronoside). Saponin occurring in the seed of the horse chestnut tree. Inhibits oedema formation and decreases vascular fragility. Synonym: feparil; reparil; aescusan. Chemical name: Escin (12 Dec 1998)
