Medical Definition of Endopeptidase k
1. 
 An enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of keratin, and of other proteins with subtilisin-like specificity. It hydrolyses peptide amides. Endopeptidase k is from the mold tritirachium album limber. (enzyme nomenclature, 1992)
