Medical Definition of Electronystagmogram

A test which involves the graphic recording of eye movements usually used to confirm the presence of nystagmus.
This test is useful in the evaluation of dizziness (vertigo) and can help determine if there is damage to the vestibular portion of the acoustic nerve. It may be performed in situations of suspected acoustic neuroma, benign positional vertigo, labyrinthitis and Meniere's disease.
