Medical Definition of Ektacytometry
1.
Method in which cells (usually erythrocytes) are exposed to increasing shear stress and the laser diffraction pattern through the suspension is recorded, it goes from circular to elliptical as shear increases. From these measurements a deformability index for the cells can be derived.
