1. Small, often pleomorphic, coccoid to ellipsoidal organisms occurring intracytoplasmically in circulating lymphocytes. They are the aetiologic agents of tick-borne diseases of humans, dogs, cattle, sheep, goats, and horses. (12 Dec 1998)
