Medical Definition of Ectodermosis erosiva pluriorificialis

1. This is a severe form of allergic reaction that most often results from a medication (for example penicillins). The rash can be generalised and even appear on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Stevens-Johnson syndrome is considered to be a variant of erythema multiforme that results in the formation of bullous (blebs) lesions on the soles of the feet, palms and inside the mouth. Stevens-Johnson syndrome may also occur in association with some viral infections and Mycoplasma infections. (27 Sep 1997)
