1. Large multimeric protein (600-800 kD) with ATPase activity, constitutes the side arms of the outer microtubule doublets in the ciliary axoneme and is responsible for the sliding. Probably (together with kinesin) involved in microtubule associated movement elsewhere. Cytoplasmic dynein is MAP Ic.
