Medical Definition of Dynactin
1.
Dynein activator complex that stimulates vesicle transport. Includes dynactin (160 kD) and polypeptides of 62, 50, 45, 37 and 32, the 45 kD (possibly actin RPV) being the most abundant. All the subunits cosediment with antibody to dynactin 160 and the complex behaves as a stable 20S multiprotein assembly.
