Medical Definition of Diencephalic syndrome of infancy

Profound emaciation after initial normal growth, locomotor hyperactivity and euphoria, usually with skin pallor, hypotension and hypoglycaemia.
It is usually due to neoplasm involving the anterior hypothalamus.
