1. Inhibits selectively and reversibly the synthesis of two-thirds of nuclear heterogeneous RNA and approximately 95% of mRNA. Drb can markedly increase interferon production by poly I-c-induced human fibroblasts. It is used as a tool in the study of intracellular mechanisms.
