Medical Definition of Diatrizoate

The most commonly used water-soluble, iodinated, radiopaque X-ray contrast medium. It is used as diatrizoate meglumine and diatrizoate sodium for all types of angiography, urography, and GI tract studies.
Pharmacological action: contrast media.
