1. O-(4-hydroxy-3,5-diiodophenyl)-3,5-diiodo-d-tyrosine. The dextrorotary isomer of thyroxine. It is used as an oral anticholesteraemic agent, mainly to treat hypercholesteraemia in euthyroid patients. Pharmacological action: anticholesteraemic agents.
