1. 2'-Deoxyribosyladenine, one of the four major nucleosides of DNA (the others being deoxycytidine, deoxyguanosine, and thymidine). The 5' derivative is also an important component of one form of vitamin B12. Deoxyadenosine accumulates in individuals with severe combined immunodeficiency disease. (05 Mar 2000)
