Medical Definition of Dental cement
1.
Bonding substances available in the form of two components that are mixed together immediately before use, setting to a hard mass.
They are used in restorative and orthodontic dental procedures as luting (cementing) agents, as bases, and as restorative materials. Resins and polymers used as restorative materials are usually called restorative resins rather than cements.
