Medical Definition of Densovirinae
1. A subfamily of DNA arthropod viruses, in the family parvoviridae. The host range includes members of dictyoptera, diptera, lepidoptera, odonata, and orthoptera. There are three genera: densovirus, iteravirus, and contravirus. There is evidence that densovirus-like viruses also infect and multiply in crabs and shrimp. (12 Dec 1998)
