Medical Definition of Cyclozoonosis
1. A zoonosis that requires more than one vertebrate host (but no invertebrate) for completion of the life cycle; e.g., various taenioid cestodes such as Taenia saginata and T. Solium in which humans are an obligatory host; hydatid disease, a cyclozoonosis in which man is not an obligatory host. Origin: cyclo-+ G. Zoon, animal, + nosos, disease (05 Mar 2000)
