Medical Definition of Cingulotomy
1.
Formerly, a unilateral or bilateral surgical excision of the anterior half of the cingulate gyrus, but now accomplished by electrolytic destruction of the anterior cingulate gyrus and callosum.
Synonym: cingulectomy.
