Medical Definition of Cilazapril

An angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor that is effective in the treatment of hypertension. Preliminary results also indicate its potential in the treatment of congestive heart failure. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed after absorption to its main metabolite cilazaprilat.
Pharmacological action: angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, antihypertensive agents.
