Type of hyperplastic cholecystosis, abnormal deposits of cholesterol esters in macrophages within lamina propria (foam cells) and in mucous epithelium strawberry gallbladder = lipid cholecystitis = cholesterosis, seedlike patchy/diffuse thickening, associated with cholesterol gallstones in 50-70%, not related to serum cholesterol, radiologically not demonstrable cholesterol polyp, multiple small filling defects less than10mm in diameter, most common fixed filling defect of gall bladder, location: usually middle 1/3 of gallbladder
