Medical Definition of Cholera toxin

A multimeric protein toxin from Cholera vibrio. The toxic A subunit activates adenyl cyclase irreversibly by ADP ribosylation of a Gs protein. The B subunit facilitates passage of the A subunit across the cell membrane.
