1. A nicotinic antagonist used primarily as a ganglionic blocker in animal research. It has been used as an antihypertensive agent but has been supplanted by more specific drugs in most clinical applications. Pharmacological action: antihypertensive agents, ganglionic blockers, nicotinic antagonists.
