Medical Definition of Ceramide lactosidase

1. A hydrolytic enzyme (a beta-galactosidase) that acts on ceramide lactoside, producing glucosylceramide and galactose. A deficiency of this enzyme can result in ceramide lactoside liposis. Compare: cytolipin. (05 Mar 2000)
