Medical Definition of Carotid tubercle
1. The anterior tubercle of the transverse process of the sixth cervical vertebra, against which the carotid artery may be compressed by the finger. Synonym: tuberculum caroticum, Chassaignac's tubercle. (05 Mar 2000)
