Medical Definition of Carbacrylamine resins

1. A mixture of the cation-exchange resin's, carbacrylic resin and potassium carbacrylic resin (87.5%) and of the anion-exchange resin, polyamine-methylene resin (12.5%), used to increase the faecal excretion of sodium in oedema associated with excessive sodium retention by the kidneys, e.g., in congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and nephrosis.
