Medical Definition of Apple domain

A consensus sequence, composed of 90 amino acids including 6 cysteines, that forms a characteristic, vaguely apple shaped, pattern via disulphide bridges. Shared by plasma kallikrein and coagulation factor XI, both serine proteases.
