A persistent purplish network-patterned discoloration of the skin caused by dilation of capillaries and venules due to stasis or changes in underlying blood vessels including hyalinisation; rarely appears as a developmental defect.
Synonym: angiitis livedo reticularis, dermatopathia pigmentosa reticularis, livedo racemosa.
