1. The radical of an alkene in which the double bond indicated by "en(e)" is between carbons 1 and 2 (carbon 1 being the radical or "yl" carbon), i.e., R-CH==CH-; sometimes expressed as alk-1-en-1-yl. (05 Mar 2000)
