An anthracycline antibiotic produced by streptomyces galilaeus. It has potent antineoplastic activity, especially in the treatment of leukaemias, with reduced cardiac toxicity in comparison to daunorubicin or doxorubicin.
Pharmacological action: antibiotics, anthracycline.
