Medical Definition of Yaba tumour

1. A poxvirus-induced neoplasm of African monkeys caused by the Yaba monkey virus, a member of the family Poxviridae. It is associated with tumour-like growths occur chiefly on the head and limbs. The tumours are benign and the natural disease has been reported only in Africa in monkeys kept outdoors. (05 Mar 2000)
