Medical Definition of Wangiella
1. A dematiaceous genus of fungi characterised by phialides without collarettes, a black yeastlike colony with yeast forms, and later hyphae; the fungi grow well at 40°C. Wangiella dermatitidis is an etilogical agent of phaeohyphomycosis. (05 Mar 2000)
