Medical Definition of Pirenella
1. A genus of marine and brackish water operculate (prosobranch) snails. Pirenella conica is the initial intermediate host of Heterophyes heterophyes, the fish-borne fluke of humans and fish-eating birds and mammals along the Mediterranean and Red Sea coasts. (05 Mar 2000)
