Medical Definition of NADH dehydrogenase

A flavoprotein containing iron. Cytochrome c may act as receptor. The enzyme reversibly catalyses the oxidation of NADH to NAD and reduced acceptor.
An inherited deficiency of this complex results in overwhelming acidosis.
Synonym: cytochrome c reductase.
