Medical Definition of Melnick-Needles syndrome

1. A generalised skeletal dysplasia with prominent forehead and small mandible; radiographically, there are irregular ribbon-like constrictions of the ribs and tubular bones; probably autosomal dominant inheritance. There are arguably two forms, autosomal recessive and X-linked. Synonym: Melnick-Needles syndrome. Origin: osteo-+ G. Dys-, bad, + plastos, formed (05 Mar 2000)
