Medical Definition of Velonoskiascopy
1. An obsolete subjective test for ametropia in which a thin rod is moved across the pupil while a distant light source is fixed; the shadow of the rod moves with the rod in myopia, and in the opposite direction in hyperopia. Origin: G. Velone (belone), needle, + skiascopy (05 Mar 2000)
