Medical Definition of Uromodulin

1. A naturally occurring immunosuppressant (85 kD) originally found in urine of pregnant women. Identical to Tamm Horsfall glycoprotein but cell surface linked by glycosylphosphatidylinositol. This entry appears with permission from the Dictionary of Cell and Molecular Biology (11 Mar 2008)
