Medical Definition of Tick paralysis

1. An ascending paralysis caused by the continued presence of Dermacentor and Ixodes ticks attached to the occipital or upper neck region in humans. Reported in the western USA and British Columbia. The treatment consists of tick removal and supportive care. (27 May 1998)
