Medical Definition of Sol gel transformation
1. Transition between more fluid cytoplasm (endoplasm) and stiffer gel like ectoplasm proposed as a mechanism for amoeboid locomotion: since the endoplasm cannot really be considered a simple fluid and has visco elastic properties like a gel, the term is misleading.
