1. A disease occurring in young children in certain of the islands of Greece, characterised by enlargement of the spleen, haemorrhages, fever, and cachexia; possibly the infantile form of visceral leishmaniasis. Origin: G. Toil, fatigue, pain (05 Mar 2000)
