Medical Definition of Poloidal divertor
1.
A divertor which takes a bundle of poloidal field lines, forming a separatrix in the poloidal magnetic field which creates separate plasma regions (which can then have different physical parameters, since transport is reduced across the separatrix where q is infinity).
