1. Condition in which the convolutions of the cerebral cortex are abnormally large; there are fewer sulci than normal and in some cases the amount of brain substance is somewhat increased. Synonym: macrogyria. Origin: pachy-+ G. Gyros, circle (05 Mar 2000)
