1. The red precipitate of HgO; it has been used externally as an antiseptic in chronic skin diseases and fungus infections. The yellow precipitate of HgO; used externally as an antiseptic in the treatment of inflammatory conditions of the eyelids and the conjunctivae. (05 Mar 2000)
