1. The aperture between the pharynx and larynx, bounded by the superior edges of the epiglottis (anteriorly), the aryepiglottic folds (laterally), and the mucosa between the arytenoids (posteriorly). Synonym: aditus laryngis, laryngeal aperture. (05 Mar 2000)
