Medical Definition of Haemophilus

1. A genus of pasteurellaceae that consists of several species occurring in animals and humans. Its organisms are described as gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, coccobacillus or rod-shaped, and nonmotile. (12 Dec 1998)
