Medical Definition of Gastroesophageal vestibule

1. The dilated aboral portion of the oesophagus, just above the cardiac orifice; usually it corresponds to the lumen of abdominal part of the oesophagus although its relation to the diaphragm is variable. Synonym: oesophagogastric vestibule. (05 Mar 2000)
