Medical Definition of Filarial dermatosis
1. A disease of sheep on high mountain ranges during the summer caused by larvae of the filarial worm, Elaeophora schneideri, which localise chiefly on the head, causing intense itching and loss of wool. Synonym: sorehead. (05 Mar 2000)
