1. A familial disorder beginning in late childhood, characterised by progressive cerebellar ataxia, action myoclonus and preserved intellect. Probably due to multiple causes, mitochondrial abnormalities being one. Synonym: dentatorubral cerebellar atrophy with polymyoclonus. (05 Mar 2000)
