1. Histamine h1 antagonist. It is used in hypersensitivity reactions, in rhinitis, for pruritus, and in some common cold remedies. Pharmacological action: anti-allergic agents, antipruritics, histamine h1 antagonists. Chemical name: 1H-Indene-2-ethanamine, N,N-dimethyl-3-(1-(2-pyridinyl)ethyl)- (12 Dec 1998)
