Medical Definition of Decussatio lemniscorum
1. The intercrossing of the fibres of the left and right medial lemniscus ascending from the gracile and cuneate nuclei, immediately rostral to the level of the decussation of the pyramidal tracts in the medulla oblongata. Synonym: decussatio lemniscorum, decussatio sensoria, decussation of the fillet, sensory decussation of medulla oblongata. (05 Mar 2000)
