1. A condition in which there is a redundancy of the skin of the upper eyelids so that a fold of skin hangs down, often concealing the tarsal margin when the eye is open. Synonym: ptosis adiposa. Origin: blepharo-+ G. Chalasis, a slackening (05 Mar 2000)
